Mother baby night light

Mother's Day is around the corner! When is the last time you made something for your mom?
Gift her something handmade this time :)
Here is an idea: A beautiful handmade night light - Simple and pretty!

Step by step instructions:

  • Take a cardstock paper 1 ft long and 1 ft wide. Fold the  paper to divide it in two equal parts. This will create two sides of the night light, each 6 inches wide. Leave 1/2 in border on left, right and bottom side.

  • Draw your favorite design using light pencil on inner side of paper. Keep  in mind that left and right sides of your design will reverse when we flip the paper. Outer side of paper will be visible.

  • Carefully cut along the pencil markings using craft knife.

  • Two sides of the night light are ready. Similarly take another sheet of cardstock paper and make remaining two sides.

  • Stick white vinyl paper on the inner side of both cardstock sheets.

  • Fold 1/2 border on one side of both cardstock sheets and glue them together.

  • A pretty night lamp is ready! :)

Hope you enjoyed! :)

Butterfly Thank you Notes!

Hello,

These are little thank you notes I made for the guests on my little one's first birthday. Note opens as the butterfly splits. To add a personal touch, I have added birthday girl's little hand prints inside each note! The golden thread enclosing the butterfly note adds a great charm!

Transform kitchen dish cloth to a fun placemat!

Hello!

This is a fun craft activity! :) Just grab your old kitchen napkins and transform them into pretty placemats or wall decors using a duct tape and spray paint. By altering colors and duct tape arrangements, come up with your own unique design!

Please checkout the video of complete process:

Here are step by step photos of complete process:

  • First collect all the material you need for this project. A kitchen napkin,  a spray paint in complementary color, duct tape and scissors. If you are making a placemat, you  might wanna use the spray paint that is water resistant.  If you are making a wall decor using this technique, any spray paint is fine.

  • Decide the pattern you want and transfer it on to dish cloth using light pencil

  • Add strips of duct tape on the pencil markings

  • Spray paint the dish cloth

  • Let it dry for 24 hours and remove the duct tape. Beautiful placemat is ready!

Collage paintings

These paintings are created by putting together little pieces of paper cut from magazines, news papers, colored papers etc.
In the first painting snow fall effect is given by spraying white water color on the collage using a toothbrush.
In the second painting, sky is painted using paint brush and watercolors, everything else is paper.
Hope you like it! :)
